"You already missed the clown."

When Newt Gingrich's campaign was unable to do what was needed to appear on the ballot for the Virginia primary, Mitt Romney said that it brought to mind the episode of "I Love  Lucy" with Lucy in the chocolate factory.

A serious charge among Republicans, who are more likely to identify with Sam Puckett and her penny t-shirt factory (please see the "The Dismal Science In iCarly Dispatch").

Normalcy returned when Newt responded to Mitt thusly"  "I wish he'd say that to my face!"  -  that's exactly what Sam would have said.

Later, in an underpublicized conversation among the candidates, Mr. Romney said that if he'd owned the factory where Lucy worked, he'd have fired and sued her for $10,000 - "That should wipe her out!"

Rick Perry said that he'd have gone further, but couldn't recall what else he would have done.

The tension increased as Ron Paul cleared his throat, and then Michele Bachman burst in:  "Ladies!  Ladies!" - sounding a little like Sam, with a touch of Meryl Streep as Maggie Thatcher thrown in to the mix.

Meanwhile, when Donald Trump declared himself to be politically "unaffiliated", the jokers at the "I'm so Restless" Appreciation Affiliate issued a statement vowing to "form a more perfect union."

Stay tuned!
